Pre-Outreach Checklist
Use this checklist before you send your next nudge.
Prepare Your Nudge
Identify your target student group and record the following details:
- Write down the number of students in the target student group to double-check before sending your email (you’ll need this number later)
- Write down the filters that were applied to the target student group
Review Campaign Details
Confirm the following elements of your nudge or nudge campaign:
- The name of the Nudge Campaign accurately describes the target student group
- The context of the Nudge Campaign reflects the selected filters or powerful predictors
- The correct sender is populated in the From field
- Those involved are aware of the nudge campaign (This is critical if sending on behalf of another colleague.)
- The correct number of students are selected to receive the nudge campaign
- The proper exclusions have been applied. (Only applies to follow-up nudges in a campaign)
Test Message Content
Click ‘Test Email’ to send a copy of the nudge to your email client. Verify the following:
- The sender has been updated to reflect the right person
- The subject line is engaging and reflective of the email content
- The nudge is free of grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors
- All personalized content brackets are intact (i.e. [Student Firstname])
- All hyperlinks are functioning and open the correct pages
- The call-to-action is fitting and is something that can be supported
- The signature of the nudge has been updated to reflect the sender
Send Your Nudge
Make any needed adjustments to the nudge. From here:
- Click Send Email and follow the prompts to send the nudge to the students in the student list
- Check your email inbox for a copy of the sent nudge
- Check the Outreach page to verify your nudge is in progress
