Library

This video provides an overview of the Library functionality in Advising, shown primarily through a user with the Manage Resource Library permission.

Video: Advising’s Library

The Library (folder 📁 icon) stores files and links so that you can store, reference, and attach them to emails that you send to individual students and groups. Privacy is controlled at the file and folder level.

What you see depends on your advising role:

Role: Student
Important: When replying to your email, your students must upload files to their own My Files library and attach them using the Library search to ensure those files come through.
Role: Advisors
My Files includes a searchable listing of all of your own materials and links. You can include them as email attachments. There are no folders on this level. If you upload local files to an email you send, those uploaded files get stored here (which you can delete).
Shared with Me includes folders of materials that have been made available to you from the central Resource Library.
Role: Directors
Permissions: Manage Resource Library
