Faculty FAQ
These are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.
Why can’t I update all my checkpoints in bulk?
You can update the “OK” level of feedback in bulk by selecting multiple students at a time. However, when raising concerns, it’s best to comment on each student individually and thoughtfully. Your insights are valuable context to guide advisors in finding the most appropriate and helpful intervention.
Will my student see what I put in the alert?
Only if your alert dialog includes an additional field indicating that the student will see it. To communicate with your student (or a group of students) directly, use + Compose Email on the Communication page.
Each institution chooses whether to allow students to get emails for each alert. Best practice is not to email the student about the alert, but rather for advisors to contact them directly to address concerns.
Important: Students have the right to request access to their information, so always write alerts as if the student will see your selections and comments.
