Enrolled Summer Nudges

For each of the campaigns described below, follow this general process:

  1. Download the nudge campaign from the link provided, craft your message, and have it approved.
    • Tip: Store and organize these drafts on your institution’s file sharing system.
  2. On the Dashboard of Administrative Analytics, select the filter options listed.
  3. At the top of the filter list, click the  ‘Apply Changes’ button. The page refreshes to show only those students who meet the filter criteria.
    • Note: The filters available reflect the configuration done for your institution.
  4. Confirm the correct filters are applied by reviewing the ‘Active Filters’ section at top.
  5. Generate the student list for the nudge one of these ways:
    • Click the Active Students number in the top right of the Overview page. 
    • Click the Active Students number from a segment on the Prediction Distribution pie chart.
    • Highlight an area on any Powerful Predictor chart and click the View Active Students link.
  6. Email the Outreach using Administrative Analytics or using an external email system.

Mindset Nudges

A student’s perspective about themselves, their school, and their ability to achieve their goals impacts their likelihood to succeed. For example, students who believe that intelligence is not fixed, and that they can improve with practice are more likely to rebound from failure and ultimately persist. This is referred to as having a growth mindset.

Sophomore Students

This nudge campaign is a series of mindset nudges designed to help new sophomore students build a growth mindset. The nudges are intended to build upon each other and can be reinforced through a call-to-action.

Set these filter options:

  • Academic Level: Undergraduate
  • Completed Terms: 2

High GPA Low Persistence Prediction

This nudge campaign is a series of mindset nudges designed to help students with high GPAs and low persistence predictions build a growth mindset.

Download the nudge campaign

Set these filter options:

  • Academic Level: Undergraduate
  • Institution GPA: 3.0 and above
  • Prediction Percentile: Bottom Quartile, (Second Quartile optional)

New Full-Time, First Time in College

This nudge campaign is a series of mindset nudges designed to help new, full-time, FTIC students build a growth mindset.

Set these filter options:

  • Academic Level: Undergraduate
  • Undergraduate Type: First Time in College
  • Full-time vs. Part-time: Full-time
  • Completed Terms: 0

Online Students Nudge Campaign

This nudge campaign is a series of mindset nudges designed to help online students build a growth mindset. The nudges are intended to build upon each other and can be reinforced through a call-to-action.

Set these filter options:

  • Academic Level: Undergraduate
  • Full-time vs. Part-time: Part-time
  • Age: 25+
  • Student Modality: All Online

New Transfer Students

The goal of this nudge campaign is to nudge new transfer students into behaviors that will aid in their success within the current term and persistence into the next term using mindset nudges.

  • Undergraduate Type: Transfer
  • Completed Terms: 0 – 1

Mattering Nudges

A student’s beliefs about their relationship with their school and their learning community affects their motivation to work through challenges. For example, if a student is challenged academically or socially, they may feel like they do not belong in college. Alternatively, when students believe they are a part of a community of learners experiencing college in a similar way, and that faculty and staff care about their success, they feel like they belong in college and their participation in the community matters.

High GPA Low Persistence Prediction

This nudge campaign is a series of mattering nudges designed to help students with high GPAs and low persistence predictions build a sense of belonging within their learning community.

  • Institution GPA: 3.0 and above
